Sentences - Tag questions
Tag questions, also called question tags, are short questions at the end of a sentence for asking someone if he/she thinks the samen.
Example: English is great, isn't it?
Example: Dave's not right, is he?
In the tag, you repeat the helping verb (see explanation about making questions); if there's no helping verb, you use do/does/did. You also use a personal pronoun (I, you/he/she/it etc)in the tag, even when the sentence uses a name. Final rule: if the sentence is affirmative, the tag is negative and vice versa.
Example: This food isn't teriible, is it? / This food is terrible, isn't it?
