Word classes - nouns

In this paragraph, we're going to talk about nouns.

A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, event, substance or quality.

Examples are: Dave, boy, house, table, wedding, water, friendliness.

We are going to talk about countable and uncountable nouns (which you need to know before you can learn about much and many in the paragraph determiners), plurals and possession. Possession can be shown by possessive adjectives, possessive pronouns and by using a possessive 's. The first two belong to other word classses, but are shown here because we like to do all 3 forms of possession in one go.
